Course content:

Basic Corporate Tax Principles:

Will focus on creating a better understanding of general Corporate Tax principles aimed at increasing a delegate's working knowledge in the day-to-day administration and accounting of Corporate Tax. This will include focussing on the tax calculation layout, gross income, deductions, specific expenses and deductions, capital allowances, and leasehold improvements. CGT and STC vs Dividends Tax will also be discussed.

Tax Dispute Resolution:

SARS' increased focus on collections inevitably leads to an increase in disputes. The Tax Dispute Resolution process aims to resolving disputes effectively.

The seminar will focus on the process itself and will include focussing on the Companies Act & fiduciary responsibility towards shareholders, Statutes, Information and Tax Administration Acts, PAJA, the Bill of Rights and the Constitution.

Looking at SARS actions and practical examples will form part of the seminar.
