Overview

Another year of tax rate increases has seen significant impact on individual taxpayers and the way they structure their tax affairs. Coupled with modifications to interest attribution rules as a result of adjustments to trust legislation, tax practitioners need to be aware of all legislative changes affecting long-term tax compliance and issues with tax planning.

These recent changes have brought about significant adjustments to individual taxes payable and the calculation thereof, and has resulted in changes to the ITR12 (individual tax return) for the 2017 submission year.

The Taxation of Individuals and Individual Tax Return Seminar will cover the amendments to the ITR12, requirements from SARS in completing and submitting the return, as well as proposals from the 2017 budget that will affect us in the future.

Presenter

Marc Sevitz
CA (SA), BCom & PGDip in Tax Law

Marc Sevitz is the co-founder and director of TaxTim. He focuses his efforts on making tax simpler for taxpayers and developing solutions for tax practitioners to assist in servicing their clients. He also sits on several SAICA committees, including the National Tax Operations Committee.

As an experienced professional in individual income tax and SARS compliance, he has an in-depth understanding of how legislation and the ITR12 affect taxpayers.

Payments & Cancellations

  • All payments must be made by EFT or by credit card, at least 3 working days before commencement of an event.

  • Kindly note that should payment not been received 2 days after the event, legal action will be taken

  • Proof of payment will be requested at registration, if payment at that point in time has not been reflected on SAIT's bank account.

  • Only written notice of cancellation will be recognised.

  • Conditions:

    • If the cancellation occurs more than 4 working days prior to the event no cancellation fee will be charged.

    • If the cancellation occurs less than 4 working days prior to the event a 100% cancellation fee will apply.

  • Delegates who book and fail to attend will be liable for the full event fee.

  • SAIT's liability in the case of an event being cancelled will be limited to a refund or credit of the event fee.
