While at Rhodes Univerisity I did 2 years of tutoring. In 2009 I tutored Accounting 1 and in 2010 I tutored the 3rd year students there tax course.
I started at Rhodes in February 2007 and obtained my Bcom in Accounting and Taxation at the end of 2009. In 2010 I decided to do my Post Graduate Diploma in Taxation and that was when I found my real passion and knew that I wanted a career in Taxation. I was initially aiming to do my CA but for personal reasons and a few academic set backs I realised I wanted a slightly different path. In the future I hope to complete my Masters in Taxation after I have complete a couple of years work and I have found a topic I would like to do it on.
Section 240A of the Tax Administration Act, 2011 (as amended) requires that all tax practitioners register with a recognized controlling body before 1 July 2013. It is a criminal offense to not register with both a recognized controlling body and SARS.
