As of 2 April 2013 taxpayers are required to request Statements of Account (SOA) from SARS. Monthly SOAs will no longer automatically be issued to taxpayers in an effort to create a paperless environment and to reduce SARS’ carbon footprint.
Where a SOA is required this may be requested through one of the following channels:
Electronically via eFiling Electronically via e@syFile™ Employer (Payroll taxes only) By calling the SARS Contact Centre on 0800 00 SARS (7277) By visiting your nearest SARS Branch.

Section 240A of the Tax Administration Act, 2011 (as amended) requires that all tax practitioners register with a recognized controlling body before 1 July 2013. It is a criminal offense to not register with both a recognized controlling body and SARS.
