SARS Customs is launching a new Passenger Processing System (PPS) at several key Customs offices during the week of 18 to 25 May 2013. Beitbridge, Lebombo, King Shaka International Airport, Durban Harbour, Pretoria and Alberton are the final Customs offices to implement this new system which has already rolled out to all other Customs offices, starting in November 2012.

The new Passenger Processing System will be introduced at the Beitbridge and Pretoria offices on 20 May 2013, at Lebombo on 21 May 2013, at Alberton on 22 May 2013 and at Durban Harbour and King Shaka International Airport on 23 May 2013.

WHY REGISTER WITH SAIT?

Section 240A of the Tax Administration Act, 2011 (as amended) requires that all tax practitioners register with a recognized controlling body before 1 July 2013. It is a criminal offense to not register with both a recognized controlling body and SARS.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO REGISTER
