New implementation Date Of 30 January 2014 For Filing Excise Accounts via eFiling

SARS published Notice R.762 in Government Gazette No. 36918 on Friday the 11th of October 2013.

This notice substitutes paragraph (e) of rule 119A.R101A(10)(d) published in Government Notice R.1874 of 8 December 1995 with the following:

"(e) From 30 January 2014 a licensee of a customs and excise warehouse may submit accounts to SARS only in terms of the e-filing service.”

Section 240A of the Tax Administration Act, 2011 (as amended) requires that all tax practitioners register with a recognized controlling body before 1 July 2013. It is a criminal offense to not register with both a recognized controlling body and SARS.
