The Merchant Shipping (International Oil Pollution Compensation Fund) Administration Act, 2013 (Act No. 35 of 2013) was promulgated on 18 December 2013 in Government Gazette 37174.

The purpose of the Act is to provide for administrative matters in connection with the levy imposed in terms of the Merchant Shipping (International Oil Pollution Compensation Fund) Contributions Act, 2013; and to provide for matters connected therewith.

WHY REGISTER WITH SAIT?

Section 240A of the Tax Administration Act, 2011 (as amended) requires that all tax practitioners register with a recognized controlling body before 1 July 2013. It is a criminal offense to not register with both a recognized controlling body and SARS.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO REGISTER
