Call for comment: Draft Customs and Excise Rules pertaining to the termination of the EU GSP

SARS published Draft Customs and Excise Rules pertaining to the termination of the European Union's (EU) General System of Preferences (GSP) for public comment on the 19th of February 2014.

Provision is made in for the EU GSP to be accommodated under the Agreement on Trade, Development and Cooperation between the EU and its Member States and the RSA (TDCA).

The SAIT will be making a submission to SARS. Kindly submit all comments to taxtech@thesait.org.za by no later than 3 March 2014. 


 

WHY REGISTER WITH SAIT?

Section 240A of the Tax Administration Act, 2011 (as amended) requires that all tax practitioners register with a recognized controlling body before 1 July 2013. It is a criminal offense to not register with both a recognized controlling body and SARS.
