We are aware that certain employers are receiving errors when completing an IRP5 certificate, particularly with regard to the block that needs to be ticked for the ETI.

SARS has informed us that:

  • If the ETI box is not ticked, you will receive a Warning Message (orange colour in background).
  • By clicking OK you can bypass the validation.
  • This message was amended with 6.5.2 (only the wording).
  • The form will still be saved as Incomplete because you still need to complete the source codes on the right.
  • Once this is done, then you can submit the form.

Please email Sharon Smulders (ssmulders@thesait.org.za) if you still experience problems in this regard.

The problem went away (well almost) when I updated the Employer details for each client - where a sort of default SIC7 code can be entered that satisfies the EasyFile monster. I assumed it applied those codes to every IRP5 & IT3.

Good Day, According to the SARS PAYE_BRS DOCUMENT a 112 page pdf. doc it shows code 3026 being for ETI (you can leave it blank if it doesn't apply to your employee) and code 3263 is the SIC7 code which MUST BE inserted and should be the same as the code inserted for the employer when the EMPLOYER COMPANY details were updated. Best I can do to help. Hope it works for you.

You can save the certificate successfully, but when submitting the recon and IRP5s, it gives you a warning with potential penalty message "values for code 3263 and/or 3026 required" ? Please could I have your comments, thanks, Sandy
