Important information in respect of appointments
Currently a 60 minute appointment will be allowed for VAT registrations instead of 30 minutes as was previously the case. It is furthermore important to note that the consultants in the practitioners unit are unable to assist with any estate related matters. For assistance with estate cases you need to visit our office at a date and time convenient to you and join the special queue for estate queries. It is also no longer necessary to make an appointment if you just need to collect 1 or 2 Tax Clearance Certificates. We do have an express queue at the branches where you will get quick and efficient service from the agents and consultants. To get an indication of the length of the queues, as well as the average waiting times at the office, please visit the SARS website and follow the steps described below.
- Open the SARS web page: www.sars.gov.za.
- Click on "Contact Us”.
- Now click on "Search for a Branch”.
- Select your region (Western Cape) and office from the list.
- Click on Bellville to open the page where contact information as well as real time information on the queues is displayed.
How to book an appointment?
All requests for appointments need to be submitted in writing to the following mailbox:
The prescribed booking form need to be completed in full, saved as an Excel document, and be attached to each request for an appointment. Keep in mind that the correct reasons for appointments as well as reference numbers for your clients need to be captured on the form. The forms is randomly checked and compared with the cases handled by the consultants.
No telephonic requests and/or any requests made via one of the consultants within the Practitioners Unit will be accepted. No additional appointments will be pre-booked in advance. You are however allowed to submit a request for a new appointment immediately after attending the current appointment. Furthermore, an appointment will not be granted if you are not:
- Registered with SARS and
- Registered with a Recognised Controlling Body.

Alternative ways of submitting queries and/or documentation
SARS has invested in a lot of resources to make it easier for the tax practitioner to be assisted with enquiries. Currently we have the PCC mailbox,
e@syfile, a unit in the call centre for tax practitioners only,

And a unit in the walk-in centres.
We need you as tax practitioners to make maximum use of the electronic media available to your disposal. E.g. why submit a TCC application manually if you can do it online or why submit a manual letter for account maintenance whereas you can submit it via the PPC mailbox. With the PPC mailbox you get a case reference number in order to follow up on your request.
Last but not least. Note that this email address is for Tax Practitioner bookings only. No other queries and/or requests will be handled through this channel.
