SARS published Notice 890 of 2014 in Government Gazette No. 38106 on the 17th of October 2014. The purpose of the notice is to give effect to the Minister of Finance's intention to introduce the Taxation Laws Amendment Bill, 2014 in the National Assembly on 22 October 2014 and to publish the explanatory summary of the Bill in accordance with Rule 241(1)(c) of the Rules of the National Assembly.

WHY REGISTER WITH SAIT?

Section 240A of the Tax Administration Act, 2011 (as amended) requires that all tax practitioners register with a recognized controlling body before 1 July 2013. It is a criminal offense to not register with both a recognized controlling body and SARS.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO REGISTER

The Act requires that a minimum academic and practical requirments be set to register with a controlling body. Click here for the minimum requirements of SAIT.
