In fulfilling our mission in serving the country and protecting the public interest, the Institute actively provides commentary on fiscal matters and taxation issues. To this end, the technical department of your Institute provided proposals and commentary to National Treasury during November 2014 for inclusion in the Budget Review for 2015. Access the submission here.
Subsequent to institutional commentary, the Minister of Finance invited the public at large to raise proposals regarding the 2015 Budget.
The current budget framework, announced in October last year, is aimed at restoring the balance to public finances, boosting investment and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the expenditure of public funds.
Your budget tips must be addressed attending to the following questions:
a) How to change the dynamics of South African cities to improve living conditions, modernise transport and communications infrastructure and expand economic activity?
b) How to reinforce government support for exporting businesses to improve their competitiveness and in turn the capacity of our economy to create more jobs?
c) How to improve the expansion of the skills base which contributes to the country’s economy?
SAIT will be collating comments and you are welcome to submit your comments to firstname.lastname@example.org by no later than 26 January 2015. Thank you for participating in the future of our country.
