SARS has improved its online appointments system, which was previously only restricted to Pretoria.
Tax practitioners situated all over the country will now be able to make appointments on the SARS website (for all branches). The dedicated e-mail addresses that were being used for appointments should be gradually phased out, with only the website being used.
Then choose applicable office ( the office the Practitioner wants to make an appointment with)
Then complete the template ( the duration is still 15 min, 30 min , 45 min & 60 min ). It is still to be aligned to the 30 min service & channels document in the next roll-out.
Enter the security code
Then ‘submit’ the request
To gradually phase-in the website method, when SARS confirms requests for appointments that came in by mail , branches will be informed that tax practitioners should now use the website, and will share the path on the e-mail.
Section 240A of the Tax Administration Act, 2011 (as amended) requires that all tax practitioners register with a recognized controlling body before 1 July 2013. It is a criminal offense to not register with both a recognized controlling body and SARS.
