G8 leaders acknowledge progress in promoting tax information exchange and transparency
The G8 leaders this week welcomed the progress made in promoting tax information exchange and transparency across the globe, which is helping to widen the acceptance of internationally agreed standards on the exchange of tax information and increase the number of bilateral agreements signed by several jurisdictions. The leaders pointed out that there is no space for complacency, stating "all jurisdictions must now act quickly to implement their commitments. We cannot continue to tolerate large amounts of capital hidden to evade taxation."
