Official interest rate change
Minister Pravin Gordhan announced the change in the official interest rate for the purposes of paragraph (a) of the definition of “Official rate of interest” in paragraph 1 of the Seventh Schedule to the Income Tax Act, 1962 as 9.5% in the Government Gazette of 29 May 2009 (GG No 32280). The change is effective 1 June 2009.
