Criteria to become a SAIT Regional Representative

You will need to be a SAIT Member in good standing and include the following in your application:

  • Motvational letter- why would you like to become a regional representative
  • Curriculum Vitae outlining qualifications, skills and experience
  • References from 3 sources

A SAIT Regional Representative is a dynamic, engaging people's person who has the following characteristics

  • Thought Leader
  • Local Tax industry leader
  • Proven track record within the community
  • Held in high esteem by other professionals
  • Dynamic
  • Engaging
  • Thrives on personal interaction
  • Highly professional and presentable

Regional representatives will be given exposure on the SAIT website for themselves and their practices. This will act as a springboard for the representative to market their professional skills and services.
The personal and professional development of SAIT Regional Representatives will be enriched through training that covers interacting with members, setting up at events, personal presentation and professional processes at events. In addition SAIT Regional Representatives will also benefit from:

  • Networking opportunities at all regional CPD events
  • Free attendance at CPD events in your region
  • SAIT branded clothing

SAIT Regional Representatives will engage with SAIT members in the following ways:

  • Providing Input into CPD events in your region
  • Identifying regional needs
  • Providing set up support at CPD events
  • Interacting with attendees


Section 240A of the Tax Administration Act, 2011 (as amended) requires that all tax practitioners register with a recognized controlling body before 1 July 2013. It is a criminal offense to not register with both a recognized controlling body and SARS.
