LEN VORHOLT

Non-Executive Director / Vice-Chair

Len Vorholt is a professional accountant who has run his own practice for more than 10 years. Len has worked in commerce for around 30 years. He is one of the founding directors of SAIT.

Len completed his CTA at Wits University during 1979.

CRAIG HIRST

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
Non-Executive Director

For the past 10 years, Craig Hirst has run Trident Professional Accounting Solutions, based in Cape Town. During his career Craig has worked for both large and smaller corporates, garnering experience in audit and as well as high net-worth and offshore structures. Craig is one of the founding directors of SAIT.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

Craig completed his Masters degree at NWU Potchefstroom in South African and International Tax. He has a post graduate degree in Advanced Taxation from Unisa and a BCom degree in Accounting, which he completed through Unisa.

RODNEY SMITH

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
Non-Executive Director

Rodney worked in auditing and commerce for 14 years before starting an accounting and tax practice 26 years ago. He is currently the Managing Director of Liandor Financial Accountants (Pty) Ltd in Port Elizabeth. Rodney is one of the founding directors of SAIT.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

Rodney holds a BCom degree from Unisa.

NEILL WRIGHT

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
Non-Executive Director and Chair

Neill Wright is a certified financial planner at ABSA bank specialising in the corporate environment. He has 26 years of work experience. Neill is one of the founding directors of SAIT and has served as SAIT's president from 28 October 2010 to 11 November 2015.





PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

Neill holds an MCom in South African and International Taxation which he obtained at the North West University. He also completed a post graduate degree in Financial Planning through the University of the Free State. Neill obtained his BCom degree through Unisa.

STIAAN KLUE

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
Non-Executive Director

Stiaan is the founder and former Chief Executive of SAIT. He is currently the Chairperson of the Advisory Board and Head of the Institute's Tax Faculty. Prior to establishing SAIT, Stiaan worked in both academia and the corporate world. Stiaan serves on the Ministry for Small Business and Development's task team, which has been tasked with presenting a master plan for small business development in South Africa.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

Stiaan completed his Charted Accountancy Studies at NWU Potchefstroom. He also completed his Masters degree in Taxation (Cum Laude) from NWU, where he finished top of his class.
   
 

WHY REGISTER WITH SAIT?

Section 240A of the Tax Administration Act, 2011 (as amended) requires that all tax practitioners register with a recognized controlling body before 1 July 2013. It is a criminal offense to not register with both a recognized controlling body and SARS.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO REGISTER

The Act requires that a minimum academic and practical requirments be set to register with a controlling body. Click here for the minimum requirements of SAIT.
