|SAIT Vice President to lead EY Africa Tax Practice|
Adv Lucia Hlongwane has been appointed as the EY Africa Tax Leader. Hlongwane will succeed Mr Jim Deoitte.
"This is a great reflection of Lucia’s standing in the tax community in South Africa and on the continent and we wish her well in her new role. As the leading tax association in South Africa, we’re proud to have her on the SAIT team and look forward to her further contribution to the tax world at EY and SAIT," said SAIT CEO Stiaan Klue.
Lucia has over seventeen years of tax experience. She joined Barclays Africa Group in March 2013 as Africa Head of Tax. Prior to joining Barclays, she was Africa Head of Tax for Shell Oil Products until divestment to Vivo Energy - she was Lead Tax Advisor for the group during the divestment. She spent over five years at the South African Revenue Services (SARS), specialising in tax, legal advice and litigation.
Her positions have gained her strong Africa experience in tax compliance, advisory, mergers and acquisitions, divestments, settlement and litigation and government lobbying.
The SAIT Board and members congratulate Vice President Lucia Hlongwane on her appointment.
