There are many important changes you need to know about this Tax Season. Some of these changes include:

1. The income threshold to file an ITR12 has changed from R350 000 to R500 0000 per annum –
but be warned, you need to make sure you meet all the criteria
2. There are new Tax Season deadline dates for non-provisional taxpayers filing their ITR12s
3. SARS eFiling and the SARS MobiApp have been revamped to include features like:

  • A new-look ITR12 form in HTML5 format
  • Customised simulated tax calculations that can be accepted or updated
  • Biometric authentication and the use of One Time Pins (OTPs) for added security

SARS aims to launch the new eFiling interface at the end of June but tax professionals need not worry about embracing this change. The Tax Faculty will be hosting a webinar on 20 June 2019 with SAIT’s Tax Helpline eFiling specialist, Anton Krynauw, to get you ready for Tax Season 2019. Further to that, Anton will be presenting workshops across the country to help you with any eFiling issues that you may encounter.
