SAIT Mission

The mission of the Institute is: 
  • To encourage the study of taxation;
  • To encourage research into the reform of any Taxation Law; 
  • To encourage and maintain high ethical and professional standards amongst professionals and other persons interested in or concerned with taxation matters so as to protect the public and to encourage a wider and more useful employment by taxpayers generally of such persons; and 
  • To disseminate information concerning the work of the Institute.





Section 240A of the Tax Administration Act, 2011 (as amended) requires that all tax practitioners register with a recognized controlling body before 1 July 2013. It is a criminal offense to not register with both a recognized controlling body and SARS.
