INTELA 3 OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATE: TAX TECHNICIAN NQF 6

THE INTELA 3 TRAINING PROGRAMME IS AN EXCITING NEW OPPORTUNITY FOR PEOPLE WORKING IN A FINANCIAL ENVIRONMENT AND SEEKING TO BECOME TAX PROFESSIONALS.

What do you get when you complete the programme?
University of Pretoria Certificate Programme: Graduate programme in the Module of Basic Taxation
An NQF 6 Occupational Certificate (Tax Technician)
SAIT membership and the designation of Tax Technician SA

Admission requirements:
South African citizenship
African Black candidates or Coloured candidates (residing in the Western Cape or Northern Cape) or people with disabilities
Minimum of two years’ experience in a tax environment
Minimum of NQF 4 SAQA registered qualification

What the programme entails:
Complete the University of Pretoria Certificate programme
Complete workplace experience portfolio of evidence
Write Credo Initial Test of Competence
Write SAIT External Integrated Summative Assessment (EISA)

Or

Participate in a one-year training programme (distance and face-to-face sessions) that includes assignments and a portfolio of evidence documenting your workplace experience
Write an entry assessment and final assessment at accredited assessment venues

What you need to do to be considered:

Complete the online application form
Submit all required documentation with your application (ID, CV, highest qualification and criminal clearance declaration)
Write an online reasoning assessment

The programme runs from March 2019 – 31 March 2020

The purpose of the Intela 3 training programme is to upskill a group of selected African Black candidates, Coloured candidates residing in the Western Cape or Northern Cape, and people with disabilities who are employed in a finance environment. The programme allows candidates to qualify to become professional tax technicians by obtaining a professional qualification as well as a professional designation by SAIT.

Funded by Fasset (the Finance and Accounting Services Sector Education and Training Authority), the course is jointly managed by SAIT and Credo Business College. All programme training costs are funded by Fasset.

This programme is presented as a blended learning or distance learning programme. Classes for the blended learning programme are presented in Pretoria.

All applicants will write an online reasoning assessment. This assessment will be emailed to you within 48 hours of receipt of your application. Please note, you will receive this assessment from the email address assessments@credobusinesscollege.co.za.

Accreditation and certification:

Candidates who successfully complete the course and comply with the related assessment criteria will be awarded a certificate by the University of Pretoria in recognition of their professional skills development. Candidates who pass the EISA will be awarded the Occupational Certificate: Tax Technician by the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO) as the regulatory body. The qualification will be recognised by SAIT for full membership and professional status. The qualification leads to the designation of Tax Technician (SA).


 

WHY REGISTER WITH SAIT?

Section 240A of the Tax Administration Act, 2011 (as amended) requires that all tax practitioners register with a recognized controlling body before 1 July 2013. It is a criminal offense to not register with both a recognized controlling body and SARS.
