Agenda points discussed at Pavillion (Gauteng North region)


  1. eFiling:
    • Tax Status Information
    • Completion of EMP returns in instances where no ETI exist
    • Registration of exempt tax payers on SARS eFiling
  2.  Turn around on queries sent to PCC email address
  3. Appointments at Practitioner Unit
  4.  Consequences for no shows/cancellations
  5. Interpretation note 14 from SARS, in particular paragraph 5.4.2 which deals with SARS requesting private travel kilometres.

  5. Medical expenses - disallowance of medical expenses

Section 240A of the Tax Administration Act, 2011 (as amended) requires that all tax practitioners register with a recognized controlling body before 1 July 2013. It is a criminal offense to not register with both a recognized controlling body and SARS.
