Tax Conferences
Share |

SAIT is involved in at least four tax conferences per year that provide high-level updates and in-depth analyses of the latest trends and developments in the field of taxation. These conferences benefit both our members and the tax community at large, and include the following:

  • Budget Review Trilogy - February
  • Tax Indaba - August
  • Annual Africa Transfer Pricing Summit - October

You are invited to attend the 2019 Budget Review Trilogy to find out what South Africa’s economic future holds for you and your business.

The event will be held at three regional venues for your convenience: Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg.

Our Cape Town event will include a live screening of the National Budget Speech followed by panel discussions. The Durban and Johannesburg events will take place on the days that follow. This year, each event will include 3 panel discussions:

1. Highlights of 2019 Budget: Our panel of economists will pinpoint the highlights of the 2019 Budget and seek to answer the perennial question, “Can Government get this economy moving again?”

2. Investments and Savings: On a personal level, the economy has a real impact on our future. Will we see another bear market in 2019 or can we hope for a rebound on our investments? In this climate, where can we invest our hard-earned savings so we have sufficient funds for the future? Our panel will deliberate on these and other investment and saving issues.

3. Key Tax Amendments: In our final segment, our speakers will provide a rundown of the key tax amendments proposed and highlight the subtleties that are easily overlooked.

5 days, 1 800 delegates, 50+ tax topics – this and more culminated in the 2018 Tax Indaba which was held from 10-14 September 2018 at the Sandton Convention Centre.

Since its debut in 2011, the event has grown in leaps and bounds over the years. This is evidenced by the inauguration of the Finance Minister as one of the keynote speakers at this year’s event as well as the extensive media coverage that followed on TV news channels, radio stations and in printed media.

Thanks to the successful collaboration of local tax professional bodies, yet another successful, industry-focussed event was executed. We look forward to hosting the entire tax community once again in 2019 with the goal of uplifting and uniting the tax profession.

The Annual Transfer Pricing Conference has become the pre-eminent annual event for South African transfer pricing specialists to share ideas and update themselves on the latest transfer pricing trends. The event seeks to provide both a South African and regional perspective on the topic through transfer pricing experts from around the continent, including private practitioners and government officials from specific revenue authorities and from international organisations.

The 9th annual event is scheduled to take place from 2- 4 October 2019 in Cape Town.
